Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is a national health assurance scheme that provides cashless healthcare coverage up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for eligible beneficiaries. In Arunachal Pradesh, eligibility under AB PM-JAY is determined based on deprivation criteria listed in the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) database of 2011 and the National Food Security Act (NFSA) database, which includes families categorized under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH).
Eligible beneficiaries include families identified in rural and urban areas based on specific socio-economic indicators such as household income, occupational vulnerability, and housing conditions. Unlike other insurance schemes, AB PM-JAY does not require separate enrollment—families that meet the eligibility criteria are automatically included and can avail benefits upon verification at empanelled hospitals.
To access cashless treatment, beneficiaries must present their Aadhaar card or PM-JAY e-card at the hospital. They can also check their eligibility and obtain their Ayushman Card at Common Service Centers (CSCs), empaneled hospitals, or through the AB PM-JAY online portal. For further assistance, beneficiaries can visit CMAAY/AB PM-JAY kiosks or contact the State Health Agency helpline.
